What is Mini Face Lift

Mini face lift is a procedure that is tailored for patients who are seeking a less invasive approach to facial rejuvenation. Like the traditional face/neck lift, mini face lift involves a surgical incision hidden around the ear crease, and undermining of the deep SMAS musculature of the face to restore the aging changes. The main difference between a traditional face/neck lift, and mini face lift is the extent of the undermining and incision involved in the surgery.

Other Benefits of Mini Face Lift

While Mini Face Lift addresses the anatomic causes of aging changes in face and neck area through undermining the deep muscle structure, ligaments, and removing excess skin laxity, it is designed to focus on the main areas of patient’s concern, resulting in less extensive surgery. As result, the surgery will typically take less time than the traditional face/neck lift, and also costs less than the traditional face/neck lift. Recovery time should also be less than the traditional lift, although patients should still plan for adequate recovery time to ensure optimal healing. Frequently, with the cost savings from less extensive Mini Face Lift, patients may elect to combine other surgical treatments, such as fractionated CO2 laser resurfacing, blepharoplasty, or midface volumization.

Candidates for Mini Face Lift

Frequently, patients who are starting to notice signs of aging around their lower face, jawline, or neck area, are typically in their 40’s and early 50’s. However, some patients with more advanced aging changes may also elect mini face lift to achieve more subtle, natural improvements.

How Is A Mini Face Lift Performed?

A mini face lift is performed by making small, discreet incisions around the ears to tighten and lift sagging skin in the lower face and jawline. The procedure focuses on smoothing wrinkles, reducing jowls, and enhancing overall facial contours. Excess skin is removed, and the underlying tissues are repositioned to create a more youthful, refreshed appearance. Since it’s less invasive than a traditional face lift, recovery time is typically shorter, making it an ideal option for those seeking subtle but effective facial rejuvenation.

Had MOHS surgery on the side of my nose and then plastic surgery by Dr. Kim two weeks ago. Healing well, don't think there will be any scar at all. Dr Kim and his staff were wonderful!

Dr. Kim is the only plastic surgeon that I’m completely comfortable with and trust. He performed a facelift that was so natural that people couldn’t believe I had the surgery.

About Us
How long will a mini face lift last?

Because lift procedures do not affect the aging process, the results of your mini face lift cannot be considered permanent. However, if you take care of your skin and live a healthy lifestyle, your results should last a very long time.

How do you know if you’re ready for a facelift?

This is a very subjective question. The simple answer is that you will know when you are bothered by any sagging of the face. This may be when you are in your 30s or in your 60s. We now have the techniques and technology to treat patients anywhere in between with a high level of safety and satisfaction. The average age in our practice for a mini face lift is about 45 – 55 years old.

Should I get a surgical or nonsurgical face lift?

Although there are a number of nonsurgical procedures available, results from these treatments are often limited. However, our practice does provide cosmetic injections like wrinkle relaxers and dermal fillers for subtle improvements. In your consultation, we can discuss your options and select which one is right for your goals.
